Remote mirror features on the DS4000 product family allow for a backup copy of corporate data files. Server and storage components are mapped through a Storage Area Network where information can be accessed through redundant network connections allowing for access to data across a variety of fibre channel or iSCSI connections.
Backup copies of data files are stored on a virtual tape library (VTL). Through backup policies established to meet the corporate goals, data is managed with Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) and protected using Tivoli Access Manager. Backup files are migrated from the VTL onto tape as the information ages and is accessed less frequently. TSM manages the data based on corporate compliance policies.
The disaster recovery planning and business resilience solution is designed to operate in a UNIX or Intel environment. The pSeries and BladeCenter servers are options for our clients depending upon their current environment and objectives set by corporate mandate.
